Local voters have rejected a proposal to demolish the famed Alcatraz prison and transform the island in San Francisco’s Bay into a global peace center, according to complete election results on Wednesday.The proposition, which shared the presidential primary ballot measure on Tuesday, was rejected by 72 percent of San Francisco voters. full story

Alcatraz Island should be given to the Native Americans, this is why they occupied it and this place is special to us, I say us because I am an Ojibway from Montana, I grew up in the boarding school system and Alcatraz was going to be our first Native American college which welcomed all, yet agian we were denied by the so called “just -us” system!
