Artrain USA is currently showcasing Native Views: Influences of Modern Culture, a contemporary Native American art exhibition. Comprised of 71 artworks by 54 Native American artists, Native Views explores the influence of popular culture and the many commonalties shared by all Americans. Visitors will discover the richness, complexity and breadth of contemporary Native American art while examining varying perspectives on society. Arts and Culture is big business for cities and towns which are rapidly developing Cultural Centers, Theaters, Museums, and the Arts. In Arizona annual a $341 Million dollar business. Maricopa County has developed a partnership for Arts and Culture. City of Scottsdale annually receives 7.5 million visitors per year which the visitors leave in that city economy $3.1 Billion dollars. It produces 15,000 new jobs related to hospitality industry. Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage, Alaska has a year around cultural center which show cases and highlights the culture of all of the tribes of Alaska. It is busy during tourism season and off season a cultural heritage learning center for not only its own Native people but for the public at-large creating cultural awareness. We confront racism and through being ourselves as tribes within a cultural heritage center we can create education and awareness about our diverse cultures. If tribes would give consideration for cultural heritage centers especially in states with large Native population it not only will create revenue for the tribes but create an awareness of who we are as Native People. Again, looking at the economics of the cultures most galleries and museums are non-Native.
