LAS CRUCES — It’s prime time for those who love American Indian arts and crafts.
This month, more than 100,000 visitors from around the world are expected to visit the 86th annual Santa Fe Indian Market, the world’s largest, where 1,200 artists from about 100 tribes will show their work in more than 600 booths. Attractions include pottery, weaving, jewelry, basketry and other traditional and contemporary work. There will also be book signings, demonstrations, Pueblo dances, live music and other entertainment along with treats like fry bread, roasted corn and Navajo tacos.
For painter Olive Enjady of Mescalero, Indian Market is a source of artistic and spiritual rejuvenation. read more
